Daniel Lapp & The Joy Of Life Concert

It was a true honour to photograph Daniel Lapp’s “Joy of Life” Concert at the Alix Goolden Performance Hall. The night was filled with energy, heart, and the kind of music that brings people together. With over 150 performers, from young fiddlers to longtime alumni and special guest Leeroy Stagger, the stage was bursting with life.

In addition to documenting the concert itself, I had the chance to step backstage and make portraits with some of the performers. These quieter moments offered a beautiful contrast to the energy on stage, giving space to capture the pride, excitement, and connection each person brought to the night.

Through both the live performance and the portraits, I aimed to reflect the spirit of the evening: joyful, generous, and deeply rooted in community. It was a night that reminded me why I love doing this work.

Participants can see more photos from the night, as well as download their photos HERE. To those who asked about how to donation for their portrait session, please feel free to Etransfer your donation to sydney@folklorestudio.co
