Silver & Tin Tintype Photography:
Bringing Art of Wet Plate Photography To Your rural Community
At Silver & Tin Tintype Photography, we believe in making timeless art accessible to everyone. Our small community offerings are designed to bring the magic of tintype photography—an antique process that creates beautifully unique portraits—directly to rural and underserved areas. Accessible Pricing with Sliding Scale Model We understand that access to meaningful, long-lasting art shouldn’t be a luxury. That’s why we’ve (with support of local businesses & arts organizations) have adopted a sliding scale payment model for our community pop-up sessions. This approach ensures that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, can experience the beauty of tintype photography
How does it work?
• Pay What You Can: We encourage individuals to contribute what they’re able to, ensuring no one is turned away for financial reasons.
• Suggested Contributions: Our suggested range is between $50 and $200, but every dollar helps us continue to bring this experience to other communities.
• Community-Focused: This pricing model allows us to prioritize accessibility, making it possible for more people to own a piece of handcrafted art that will last for generations.
This sliding scale offering is only possible with the financial support of local businesses and organizations. Their contributions allow us to keep these sessions accessible to all. If the needed support isn’t found in a particular community, Silver & Tin will still host pop-up events, but with our regular pricing model in place.
“Having @silver.n.tin come into our little community was a heart filling experience. There was the chance of getting a family portrait in an unconventional way. The magic of a tin photo is something. Watching the families of the community getting their family portraits taken and watching the process. Having people come together to ensure a staple of the community is captured in all his glory. Having an artist in his element see the beauty in my dad. He could see the stories of this patriarchal pillar and asked to capture it. Leaving the generations to come a perfect portrait of omosômimâw. I will jump at the chance to have our portraits taken again.”
